About HippoDeals.comHippo is a small company in rural Kansas, smack-dab in the heart of America (this makes our delivery times really fast!).
We started Hippo in 2001 as a way to supplement our income doing something really fun. John's expertise in contract negotiations and background in systems and operations brings us all the good deals. Jim's technical expertise makes it possible for you to shop from the comfort of your home.
Since we have grown so much (over 200,000 customers so far), John started full time, we found a great old dance hall to convert into a warehouse and office space and have hired a few new Hippos.
A little bit about the owners:
John Morgali (Big Hippo) comes from a 20 year career in Telecom and IBM midrange systems. John and Ryan now work at Hippo all day every day and are joined by other family members to help pack stuff up and get it out the door.
Jim Jones (Little Hippo) started in business in 1996 by opening the first ISP in our little town. Since then he has traveled the world consulting with international companies and implementing some really cool networks. He sold his ISP in 2000 and went to work for the folks who bought him out.
In 2009 Jim followed his pattern and sold his portion of the business to John and Ryan and is once again traveling the world supporting complex IP networks.
Ryan Morgali started in the business in 2003, we needed fresh ideas and his mechanical aptitude and customer service skills have given us an operations manager that understands customer needs and our business model. While finishing he's liberal arts education Ryan was the workhorse that helped build Hippo into what we are today. A succesful family business that is small enough to understand and big enough to get things done. Ryan and his wife Teresa are also shareholders in HippoVariety.
Shipping costs are based on UPS's standard rates. If the package weighs 2 pounds or less, it will be sent using USPS Priority Mail. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, packages over two pounds may also be sent via USPS Priority, depending on size and weight.
Orders shipped to Kansas will be charged 8.3% for sales tax.

-Items are guaranteed to arrive free from manufacturer's defects.
-Defective items covered under manufacturer warranty will be handled by the manufacturer.
-We will replace or refund purchase price if non-manufacture warranted defective item is returned within 10 days.
-Damage due to handling by the shipper must be resolved by the shipper (FedEx, UPS or USPS).
-Undamaged Items returned in original packing will be refunded, minus a 25% re-stocking fee.
-Shipping is non-refundable.
